Job Title: Bookkeeper – Real Estate

Location: Mission, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $20 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with Real Estate experience to manage day-to-day accounting functions for rental properties. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), comfortable working with spreadsheets, and able to manage tenant accounting, reporting, and compliance tasks with accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records for real estate rental properties
  • Use QuickBooks Online and Desktop to record transactions and manage accounts
  • Reconcile bank accounts and property accounts on a regular basis
  • Prepare financial, forecasting, and management reports
  • Audit bills and vendor invoices for accuracy
  • Invoice tenants and manage tenant account ledgers
  • Track rent payments and generate reports of late tenants by the 3rd day of the month
  • Prepare and process eviction notices as needed
  • Assist with year-end reporting and documentation for IRS purposes
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking income, expenses, and forecasts
  • Ensure all financial records are organized, accurate, and up to date

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in Real Estate or property management
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop
  • Experience with reconciliations, reporting, and tenant accounting
  • Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel or similar)
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with rental properties and tenant billing
  • Familiarity with eviction processes and rent compliance tracking
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
