CNC Machinist

Located in Waunakee, WI

Salary: $20+/hr

Express is looking for a 1st and 2nd shift CNC Machinist for a great metal shop company in the Waunakee, WI area.

 

Overview:

Responsible for using furnished tools, such as CNC programs, job set-up sheets, job travelers, and a current part prints to establish tooling and table set-ups that will produce parts that run safely, efficiently, and consistent enough to meet or exceed the customer's requirements.

• Run all Mill and Lathe jobs as trained
• Work independently and multi-task
• Preform routing and preventative maintenance and upkeep of machining department equipment and tooling
• Ensure departmental communication is accurate and effective
• Audit of work completed to ensure highest quality standards
• Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work overtime when needed
• Maintain scrap log
• Assist in monthly inventory

Education and Experience:

• Experience in similar function or education equivalent to experience
• Forklift experience is a plus but not necessary

Skills:

• Ability to run jobs within quality and efficiency expectations on 3 axis mills or lathes after the setup was completed by a trained setup machinist
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance and upkeep of equipment and instruments once trained
• Read, understand and explain blueprints
• Have excellent math skills, ability to read calipers, micrometers and associated measuring equipment
• Basic computer and writing skills
• Ability to assist in driving continuous improvement through improving the processes, reducing cycle time, reducing setup time, utilizing one operator on two machines where possible, and other methods as needed.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50lbs safely or with assistance
• Capable of standing and bending for long periods of time
• Visually and physically inspect parts
• Excellent communication skills
• Positive and safe attitude
• Be able to work well in a team environment
• Have great attention to detail and accuracy while multi-tasking and trouble shooting
• Have the ability to train others on machinery
