Join a leading structural steel fabrication team in Texas as a Machine Operator. Work only 3 days a week (36 hours) and get paid for 40 hours, provided scheduled hours are met.

In this role, you'll operate various production machines, including drill lines, angle punches, brake presses, shears, plasma tables, duplicators, punches, and transfer tables. You'll read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to set up, select, position, secure, and run machinery according to procedures and guidelines. Adjust settings accurately and on time to meet specifications.

Minimum Starting Pay: $21.00 to $26.00 per hour, based on experience.

Essential Functions:

• Inspect materials rigorously before, during, and after processing to maintain quality control.
• Read and interpret instructions from work orders and cut-sheets.
• Ensure machines operate properly and safely.
• Perform basic maintenance on machines for optimal operation.
• Prepare materials for processing and mount coils in hubs.
• Operate hoists and perform periodic checks for preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve faults or issues affecting machine function.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Comply with company and OSHA policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to identify different types of materials.
• Knowledge of metals and basic shop fabrication equipment.
• Skill in reading blueprints, diagrams, sketches, manuals, specifications, and troubleshooting issues.
• Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and tractor-trailers.
• Capacity to handle pressure, adapt to changes, and multitask under deadlines.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least six months of experience operating production machinery.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent prolonged standing; ability to move objects using abdominal and lower back muscles without fatigue.
• Regularly lift materials or equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Constant limb movement; requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
