Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Press Brake Machinist for a metal fabrication environment. This is a full-time, skilled trade position requiring in-depth knowledge of press brake machinery, metal bending techniques, and precision measurement.

We are looking for a true machinist who can set up, adjust, modify, and troubleshoot press brake machines, read and interpret blueprints, and produce high-quality metal components while maintaining tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

As a Press Brake Machinist, your responsibilities will include:

Independently setting up and operating press brake machines (CNC and/or manual).
Bending and forming various types and thicknesses of metal according to specifications.
Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Making adjustments to schematics or machine settings as needed to achieve proper bends and tolerances.
Selecting, installing, and aligning dies, punches, and tooling.
Adjusting machine parameters such as tonnage, stroke depth, bend angles, and back gauges.
Performing first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
Troubleshooting machine issues, tooling misalignment, material spring-back, or dimensional variances.
Performing preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs on press brake equipment.
Assisting with welding tasks (MIG/TIG preferred) as part of fabrication or repair processes.
Handling raw and finished metal materials, including heavy lifting throughout the shift.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.

Requirements

Press Brake Machinist experience required (this is not a machine operator role).
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Proven experience adjusting machines, tooling, and tolerances independently.
Welding experience (MIG/TIG preferred).
Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform physical work throughout the shift.
Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills.
Reliable attendance and consistent, tenured work history.
Safety-conscious with a strong attention to detail.

Skills & Qualifications

Press brake setup, tooling changes, and bend correction.
Understanding of metal properties, thickness, and spring-back behavior.
Blueprint reading including bend callouts and tolerances.
Welding and fabrication support skills.
Strong math skills for measurements, angles, and tolerances.
Preventative maintenance and root-cause problem-solving.
Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.

Shifts & Hours

Full-time schedule
1st and/or 2nd shift opportunities available depending on facility needs
Overtime may be available based on workload
