We are seeking an experienced Carpenter / Project Supervisor for a short-term assignment at a government facility. This role combines limited hands-on carpentry work with on-site supervision of subcontractors, including HVAC and electrical trades.
The position is ideal for an experienced or semi-retired carpenter/contractor who wants to stay active without heavy physical labor, or for a carpenter with prior experience overseeing subcontractors.
Perform initial carpentry work, including adhering/installing bullnose counters (estimated to take approximately one day).
Serve as on-site supervisor for subcontractors (HVAC and Electrical) for several days following the carpentry work.
Oversee daily progress, ensuring work is proceeding as scheduled and in a professional manner.
Take daily notes and photos documenting completed work.
Submit daily progress updates (notes and photos) to the project team at the end of each day.
Be available to answer basic questions from subcontractors and coordinate as needed.
Optional: Assist subcontractors if desired (not required; subs will have their own assistants).
Experience as a carpenter, preferably with finish work such as counters or trim.
Prior experience supervising subcontractors or managing job sites is strongly preferred.
Basic understanding of HVAC and electrical trades (no hands-on work required).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to document work clearly using photos and written notes.
Reliable, professional, and able to work independently on-site.
Comfortable working in a government facility environment.
Light to moderate physical activity during initial carpentry work.
Minimal physical labor during the supervisory phase of the project.
Short-term commitment (4–6 business days).
Limited physical labor after the initial carpentry task.
Ideal for experienced tradespeople looking for a lighter workload while staying engaged in construction projects.
