KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sanitation Operations
- Plan, schedule, and supervise daily, weekly, and periodic sanitation activities for manufacturing rooms, packaging areas, equipment, utensils, and common areas.
- Ensure proper execution of cleaning, sanitizing, and verification activities in accordance with approved SOPs and Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS).
- Verify correct use, storage, and dilution of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
- Oversee line clearance, pre-operational inspections, and post-sanitation release activities as required.
- Maintain the approved chemical list.
cGMP & Compliance
- Ensure sanitation practices meet 21 CFR Part 111, FDA guidance, and internal quality standards.
- Maintain accurate sanitation records, logs, and verification documentation.
- Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections; respond to observations related to sanitation.
- Participate in investigations of sanitation-related deviations, contamination events, or customer complaints, and implement CAPAs.
- Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise, train, and coach sanitation staff on proper cleaning techniques, chemical safety, PPE usage, and cGMP requirements.
- Conduct onboarding and recurring training for sanitation personnel.
- Monitor employee performance and adherence to safety and sanitation expectations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate sanitation activities with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to minimize downtime and ensure readiness for manufacturing.
- Partner with Quality to validate and verify cleaning procedures, including allergen and cross-contact controls.
- Support equipment changeovers and special cleaning requirements for new or high-risk products.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
In accordance with applicable policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, may perform the following supervisory responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring, orienting, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising, managing and rewarding performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, etc.
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Bilingual communication skills in (Spanish) is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of sanitation experience in a dietary supplement, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- At least 1–2 years of supervisory or lead experience.
- Working knowledge of cGMPs, sanitation SOPs, and Master Sanitation Schedules.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
