Job Title: Quality Technician

Department: Plant / Manufacturing
Reports To: Quality Manager or Supervisor
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Range: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour (based on experience)

Job Summary

The Quality Technician is responsible for testing and inspecting products at various stages of the manufacturing process. This role compiles, analyzes, and evaluates statistical data to ensure product quality, reliability, and compliance with established standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are representative of the position; additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to determine quality and reliability standards.

  • Use close-tolerance measuring equipment to inspect products and materials, including micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

  • Measure component parts, assemblies, and fixtures to ensure they meet predetermined requirements.

  • Assist with implementing, maintaining, and modifying quality control procedures.

  • Select products for inspection and testing at specified stages of the production process.

  • Perform tests to evaluate dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.

  • Record test data and apply statistical quality control (SQC) procedures.

  • Analyze inspection and test data and prepare reports identifying compliance or deviations from standards.

  • Recommend improvements to quality or production standards to achieve optimal quality within customer and equipment requirements.

  • Set up and conduct destructive and non-destructive testing to measure performance, durability, and material characteristics.

  • Prepare graphs and charts or enter data into computer systems for analysis and reporting.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school; or

  • Two to four years of related experience and/or training; or

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software

  • Proficiency with spreadsheet software

  • Proficiency with word processing software

  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
