The Shipping and Receiving Dock Worker is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying inventory, and ensuring the dock area operates efficiently and safely. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate inventory and on-time delivery.
Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments of materials, supplies, and products
Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and customer specifications
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely
Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment and safety protocols
Verify shipment contents and match with purchase orders or invoices
Label, sort, and stock incoming items in appropriate storage locations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping/receiving dock area
Report damaged or missing items to supervisors
Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics experience preferred
Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on your feet throughout the shift
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Basic computer skills or familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS)
Good communication skills and teamwork mentality
Warehouse setting with exposure to various temperatures
Frequent lifting, bending, and standing
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
