Our staffing agency is partnering with a well-established residential renovation and construction company to hire an experienced Construction Project Manager. This is an on-site role managing multiple home renovation and addition projects from start to finish.
The ideal candidate combines strong construction knowledge with excellent customer service skills and takes pride in delivering high-quality work on time and on budget. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on project leadership, collaboration with subcontractors, and being the main point of contact for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Construction & Planning
- Review project specifications, drawings, and construction plans
- Coordinate with design/build teams to obtain missing or required information
- Develop and finalize project schedules
- Prepare for job start by confirming materials, subcontractors, and timelines
Project Management (During Construction)
- Manage subcontractors and ensure quality standards are met
- Coordinate schedules, deliveries, and inspections
- Procure job materials and monitor inventory to stay ahead of schedule
- Track progress and communicate updates with:
- Homeowners/clients
- Client Account Managers
- Design/Build Production Managers
Quality, Safety & Site Management
- Maintain company quality standards on all projects
- Monitor job site safety and enforce safety practices
- Submit incident reports if needed
- Enforce no-smoking policy on job sites
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site
- Protect client property (furniture, appliances, landscaping, etc.)
- Ensure sites are secured, watertight, and safe at the end of each workday
Scheduling, Budget & Documentation
- Keep projects on schedule and within budget
- Prepare estimates and change orders as needed
- Ensure billing is completed accurately and on time
- Schedule required inspections with local authorities
- Turn in weekly receipts and required documentation
Additional Responsibilities
- Address issues quickly and professionally
- Be available to respond to urgent job-related issues (e.g., weather protection failures)
- Attend monthly company meetings
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager (residential renovation preferred)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and terminology
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Frame and finish carpentry skills, both interior and exterior
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable using construction or project management software
Requirements
- Ownership of a reliable truck, van, or utility vehicle for work-related travel
- Ability to work on-site at residential job locations
