Manual Machinist

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other shop equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
• Measure and inspect parts using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure accuracy.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to meet quality and production standards.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet deadlines and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 - 5 years of manual machining experience.
• Skills: Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of different metals and materials.
• Experience with custom or prototype parts.
• Familiarity with shop safety standards and best practices.
