Trail Construction Crew Member

Job Description:
As a Trail Construction Team Member, you will work in various outdoor settings to help construct hiking trails. You’ll work as part of a team to ensure that trails are safe, accessible, and designed to enhance the natural landscape. This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to work with tools and equipment, perform heavy lifting, and work in various weather conditions.  Position to last about 2 months.  

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the construction, repair, and maintenance of walking trails.
• Clear vegetation and debris from trail sites.
• Use hand tools (shovels, picks, loppers, etc.) and power tools to cut and shape trails.
• Move materials such as rocks, gravel, and logs to build trail surfaces and structures.
• Assist in the construction of trail features such as steps, bridges, and retaining walls.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with environmental and safety standards.
• Work closely with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or similar outdoor work is preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical labor in rugged and uneven terrain.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Familiarity with hand tools and power equipment used in trail construction (e.g., shovels, axes, chainsaws).
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable transportation to work sites.
