The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, setup, troubleshooting, and general maintenance of packaging and filling equipment, as well as supporting overall facility maintenance. This role is essential to keeping production running smoothly and safely.

Shifts: Rotating Day and Afternoon Shifts (availability for both required)

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and tear down production equipment per daily production schedules.
  • Ensure production lines operate efficiently and meet output targets.
  • Perform repairs, in-process adjustments, equipment breakdown response, and troubleshooting.
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance tasks and maintain accurate PM logs.
  • Assist in completing Production Line Downtime logs.
  • Maintain proper clean-up and organization of parts, tools, and work areas.
  • Monitor equipment for routine and unusual issues; recommend and validate corrective actions.
  • Communicate continuously with Production Manager and Maintenance Supervisor, including at shift change.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Ability to work rotating Day and Afternoon shifts.
  • Experience operating bottle labelers, boxers, and inkjet printers required.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, walk, and lift up to 20 kg for extended periods.
  • High School Diploma required; post-secondary training in Facilities or Equipment Maintenance preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a liquid filling and packaging environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP, SOPs, and general safety standards.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and high-level troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and record-keeping skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting Wage: $27.00/hour
  • After 3-Month Probation: $28.00/hour
  • Shift Premiums:
  • Afternoon: +$0.25/hour
  • Benefits: Medical & Dental coverage after 3-month probation
  • Bonus: Eligible for 5% performance bonus after 1 full year of service
  • Safety Shoe Reimbursement: Up to $100/year
