Mechanic/Welder – MIG Welder

 

Pay: $18 per hour
Hours: Full-time

 

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in Watseka, IL. This role involves performing railcar repairs while ensuring compliance with FRA and AAR interchange rules. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, welding experience, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

 

Responsibilities:

• Perform railcar repairs in compliance with FRA and AAR interchange rules
• Conduct pre- and post-inspections of assigned railcars
• Follow all safety protocols, including OSHA regulations and in-house procedures
• Ensure adherence to the company’s quality program by following internal processes and regulatory requirements
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with OSHA, and environmental standards

Qualifications:

• Experience in mechanical repairs and welding
• Knowledge of FRA and AAR interchange rules (preferred)
• Ability to work safely and follow OSHA regulations
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
