The Assistant Hotel Manager supports the Hotel Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations to ensure exceptional guest service, efficient staff performance, and compliance with company standards. This role assists with front desk operations, housekeeping coordination, staff supervision, and guest relations. The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and capable of stepping in as the acting manager when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Hotel Manager with day-to-day hotel operations

  • Supervise front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance staff during assigned shifts

  • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction and promptly resolve guest concerns

  • Support scheduling, timekeeping, and coverage coordination

  • Assist with training, onboarding, and coaching hotel staff

  • Monitor cleanliness, safety, and operational standards throughout the property

  • Conduct room and common-area inspections to ensure quality standards are met

  • Enforce hotel policies, procedures, and service expectations

  • Assist with inventory control and supply ordering

  • Step in as Manager-on-Duty when the Hotel Manager is unavailable

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in hospitality, hotel operations, or customer service preferred

  • Leadership or supervisory experience a plus

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Professional demeanor with a guest-first mindset

  • Basic computer skills (PMS systems, email, scheduling software preferred)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed

  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
