Facilities Engineering – Maintenance Technician III (1st Shift)

Pay Rate: $28.76 per hour London OH

Position Overview

The Facilities Engineering – Maintenance Technician III is responsible for maintaining facility and production support systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, HVAC, compressed air, and general building systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain assigned facility and support equipment

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime

  • Conduct routine and periodic inspections of facility equipment

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, thermal, and control system issues

  • Research, test, and implement new products and cost-reduction initiatives

  • Apply troubleshooting and repair knowledge with minimal supervision

  • Independently identify and resolve moderately complex technical issues

  • Use sound judgment in daily decision-making

  • Identify, schedule, and participate in continuous improvement activities

  • Mentor and support lower-level maintenance technicians

  • Maintain knowledge of department procedures and best practices

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 3 years of technical maintenance experience

    • (2-year degree counts as 1 year of experience; 4-year degree counts as 2 years)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair moderately complex systems

Working Conditions

  • General office environment approximately 1.5 hours per day

  • Manufacturing environment approximately 6.5 hours per day

  • Occasional overnight travel for training or support at remote locations

  • Required to work unplanned and unscheduled overtime as needed

Workplace Hazards

  • Frequent exposure to moving or mechanical parts

  • Moderate noise levels; hearing protection required in designated areas
