Maintenance Coordinator – 2nd Shift
Pay Range: $73,000 – $83,000
The Maintenance Coordinator – 2nd Shift provides leadership and direction to a production maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, supporting production goals, and driving continuous improvement while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
-
Lead and supervise a maintenance team of approximately 27 technicians performing preventive and reactive maintenance
-
Ensure production goals are met while maintaining equipment in optimal operating condition
-
Minimize downtime and reduce production rejects through root cause analysis and corrective actions
-
Provide clear expectations, coaching, and training to maintenance staff
-
Conduct performance planning and continuous improvement discussions to achieve departmental targets
-
Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets
-
Accurately track and report key performance indicators (KPIs)
-
Coordinate maintenance and repair improvement projects, including ordering required parts
-
Plan, conduct, and delegate technical training programs
-
Drive continuous improvement activities using PDCA methodology
-
Prepare and present reports to management
-
Participate in or lead PDCA meetings and downtime review meetings
-
Support hiring efforts by participating in interviews and onboarding
-
Delegate and assist with daily maintenance and repair activities as needed
-
Manage downtime tracking, reject reporting, and corrective action documentation
-
Perform root cause analysis for excessive downtime or quality issues
-
Ensure maintenance areas meet cleanliness and Lean 2S3D standards
-
Audit completed work to ensure quality and compliance
-
Manage spare parts inventory using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
-
Oversee preventive maintenance scheduling, job plans, and asset assignments within CMMS
-
Generate and post downtime and PM completion reports
-
Monitor department task boards and ensure timely completion of assignments

Support initiatives that improve quality, cost, delivery, and employee development
Qualifications
Required:
-
Associate’s Degree in business, maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
-
Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience
-
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
-
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
-
Working knowledge of:
-
Electrical and mechanical systems (gears, bearings, shafts, etc.)
-
Pneumatics (cylinders, valves, pressure regulators)
-
AC, DC, and servo motors
-
PLC and PC-based control systems
-
Robotics and automation systems
-
Machine vision and sensor systems
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)

Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and beyond scheduled shifts as needed
Preferred:
-
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts
-
Experience using CMMS software (Maximo preferred)
-
PLC programming experience (Mitsubishi preferred)
-
Experience with robotics, automation, and advanced sensing systems
-
Experience with machine vision systems (Keyence, Banner, Cognex)
-
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables

Experience with databases and data analysis tools
Physical Requirements
Working Conditions

General office environment approximately 2 hours per day

Manufacturing environment approximately 6 hours per day

Occasional overnight travel may be required

Required to work unplanned and unscheduled overtime to meet production demands

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, heat, electrical systems, conveyors, chemicals, and pneumatic equipment
