Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our client's warehouse team in a lead role. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth flow of goods, accurate inventory management, and timely order fulfillment while leading and training a team of material handlers. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and possess the necessary skills to operate warehouse equipment efficiently. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting manufacturing production.

Duties

• Oversee and coordinate the activities of material handlers to ensure efficient and accurate preparation of incoming & outgoing shipments.
• Direct material handlers in the loading and unloading of trucks using forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Manage selection, gathering and preparation of outgoing orders.
• Manage inventory levels through stock replenishment, stock rotation, and updating records in WMS system.
• Operate material handling equipment e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks, etc. as needed
• Maintain clean and organized shipping and receiving areas.
• Utilize order pickers and RF scanners to receive materials and fulfill customer orders efficiently, and accurately.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory using FIFO principles to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Provide training, coaching, feedback and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize distribution processes and improve overall efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or distribution operations.
• Ability to operate forklift, reach truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment safely is a requirement.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems like Epicor, and RF scanners.
• Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities accurately.
• Experience with order picking & packing, stocking, load & unload procedures, and packaging materials.
• Previous Leadership experience
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory control and order fulfillment.
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications or education in logistics or warehousing is a plus.
• Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
