Overview
A growing organization in the oil and gas sector is seeking a driven and experienced Technical Account Manager/ Business Developer to join their team. This role is ideal for a motivated sales professional with strong experience in oil and gas markets, a strategic mindset, and the ability to build long-term customer relationships. The position requires frequent travel and focuses on expanding market presence, generating new business, and meeting sales targets.
The client manufactures positive displacement rotary gear pumps primarily used in TEG dehydration and has been established since the 1980s.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive outside sales efforts by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across the U.S.
- Manage and grow existing accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to increase market share.
- Conduct technical product presentations for customers and prospects.
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, and marketing initiatives.
- Utilize CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) to track sales activities and analyze trends.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with field operators, engineers, and executives.
- Plan and manage territory efficiently, including scheduling client meetings and travel.
- Upsell additional products or services to maximize revenue.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of proven sales experience (oil and gas preferred).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field.
- Ability to travel extensively within the U.S.
- Expertise in business development, lead generation, and direct sales techniques.
- Proficiency with CRM software such as Salesforce or similar tools.
- Ability to confidently deliver technical sales presentations.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills to identify new market opportunities.
