💵 Pay: $23 per hour
🕒 Schedule: Typically Four 10-hour shifts — 6:30 am–5:00 pm or 6:45 am–4:45 pm, one weekend day required

🔎 Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused individual to serve as a Scale House & Transfer Station Attendant. This role supports both scale house and transfer station operations, ensuring accurate transactions, safe site activity, and excellent customer service. The position requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stand and move throughout a 10-hour shift.

📝 Primary Responsibilities

⚖️ Scale House Duties

• 🔓 Open and close the scale house during scheduled hours
• 📏 Accurately measure or estimate customer load sizes when needed
• 🔒 Enforce secured-load policies
• 💻 Enter and verify data in the computer/truck scale system
• 💰 Collect payments or prepare charge tickets for credit customers
• 💵 Make correct change and issue receipts
• 🧾 Balance daily cash receipts and prepare end-of-day paperwork
• 🏦 Prepare bank deposits and deliver deposits/paperwork to the Solid Waste office nightly
• 🧭 Provide directions and answer questions about fees, recycling, and site info
• 🧹 Maintain the scale house and surrounding area in a clean, organized condition
• ➕ Perform other duties as assigned

🏗️ Transfer Station Floor Attendant Duties

• 🔓 Open and close the transfer station
• 🧭 Assist customers with directions and questions about fees, recycling, and disposal
• 🚦 Provide traffic control and monitor customer safety
• 🚫 Conduct waste screening to identify prohibited items
• 🧼 Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• ➕ Perform other duties as assigned

✅ Requirements

• 💻 Computer knowledge (required for scale house operations)
• 🕒 Ability to stand and move for most of a 10-hour shift
• 😀 Excellent customer service and communication skills
• 💵 Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
• 🌦️ Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather
• ⏰ Reliable, punctual, and able to work the required schedule
• 🚗 Valid driver’s license and clean MVR
• 🧪 Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screen
• 🔍 Ability to pass a background check
