We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to assist with tax review for a well-established local CPA firm. In this role, you will review business and individual tax returns and financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance before filing with the IRS. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented tax professional who enjoys problem-solving and collaborating with others to uphold best practices in tax preparation.

Job Duties

• Review business and individual tax returns for accuracy and compliance with federal and state tax laws
• Examine financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure consistency and correctness
• Verify calculations, deductions, credits, and classifications
• Identify unusual or inconsistent items and investigate discrepancies
• Provide feedback and corrections to tax preparers in a clear, constructive manner
• Collaborate with the CPA and tax preparation team to resolve issues prior to filing
• Assist with reviewing more complex tax returns; estate experience is a plus
• Stay current on applicable tax rules, regulations, and best practices
