Job Title: Food Production Packer

Job Summary:

The Food Production Packer is responsible for the efficient packaging of food products on the production line. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring food items are packed according to specific guidelines, and ensuring that all products are of high quality and meet safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Packing food products: Package food items in containers, boxes, or other packaging materials as per specifications, ensuring they are secure for transport and storage.
• Quality control: Inspect products for defects, damages, or inconsistencies in quality. Report any issues to supervisors.
• Labeling: Attach labels to packages, ensuring accurate information such as product names, ingredients, expiration dates, and batch numbers are clearly visible.
• Product sorting: Sort food items based on type, size, or quality as needed for packaging.
• Following hygiene protocols: Adhere to strict cleanliness and safety standards while handling food. Ensure all tools and equipment used for packaging are sanitized regularly.
• Maintaining production pace: Keep up with the production line to ensure packaging speed matches the flow of products.
• Assisting with inventory: Help track the stock of packaging materials, ensuring the timely request for more materials as needed.
• Following safety guidelines: Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed, including wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and operating equipment safely.
• Recording data: Maintain accurate logs of packaged items, reporting any discrepancies or issues encountered during the packing process.
• Maintaining work area: Keep workstations clean and organized to ensure efficiency and prevent contamination.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Physical stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Attention to detail: High level of attention to ensure that products are packed correctly and meet quality standards.
• Teamwork: Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Time management: Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality or safety.
• Basic math skills: Ability to count and track quantities of items being packaged.
• Communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Hygiene knowledge: Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a food production or packaging environment is a plus but not always required.
• On-the-job training may be provided.

Work Environment:

• Typically works in a factory or warehouse setting.
• May be required to work in cold or hot environments depending on the food product.
• Work may involve standing for long periods and lifting boxes or bags of food products.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to bend, twist, and reach frequently during the workday.
