Experience Machine Operator

Salary: $18.00+ / hr

 

Experience Required:

• 2+ years of machine operating experience required

Job Summary:

• Operate one or more machining centers (including Grinders, Hydromat, and Acme machines, hand tools, precision measuring instruments and blue prints) while meeting established production, quality, and safety standards
• Operate one or more machines while meeting production and quality standards
• Independently run one or more machines or part numbers within the department without requiring training from others
• Assist with machine and tooling changeovers as needed
• Maintain SPC charts, machine maintenance books, tooling logs, and other required documentation
• Perform inspection and ensure quality of finished products
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining and process-related issues
• Perform operator-level preventative maintenance
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance machining processes
• Properly care for and maintain equipment and perishable tooling

Skills / Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Prior machine operator experience required
• Mechanically inclined with working knowledge of hand tools
• Good basic math skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Quality-focused with strong attention to detail

• Maintain 100% or greater efficiency on one or more machines
  • (Efficiency defined as quoted parts per labor hour)
• No more than one (1) internal quality reject per month
• Zero safety incidents
• Consistent maintenance of a clean and efficient work area
• Cost control through waste reduction (scrap, broken tooling) and elimination of non–value-added activities (e.g., excessive re-inspection)
