Medical AR Specialist

Salary: $19/hr -$21/hr

A busy and well-established medical practice is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for managing medical billing, insurance claims, and patient account inquiries while ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of medical billing processes, insurance follow-up, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $19/hr to $21/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Manage medical accounts receivable, including billing, payment posting, and account reconciliation

• Follow up on outstanding insurance claims, denials, and patient balances to ensure timely resolution

• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, errors, and disputes

• Accurately post payments, adjustments, and corrections to patient accounts

• Generate and review AR reports to monitor performance and identify trends

• Communicate professionally with patients, insurance carriers, and internal team members

• Maintain compliance with current insurance regulations, billing requirements, and coding guidelines

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in medical billing and accounts receivable

• Working knowledge of medical billing software and insurance claim processes

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical abilities

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced medical office setting
