CNC Grinding Machinist | Direct Hire, Full-Time

Location: Berlin, CT

Pay rate: $50,000-68,000

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Set up, program, and operate grinding machines (ID/OD, surface, or cylindrical grinders)
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to understand dimensions and tolerances
• Select, dress, and maintain grinding wheels and tooling
• Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
• Perform in‑process and final inspections to ensure part quality
• Document inspection results and production data accurately
• Maintain grinding machines and perform routine maintenance
• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues

Qualification/Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge of grinding process required
• Ability to program at machine to control grinding wheel
• Ability to dress a wheel
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply GD&T
• Skilled using precision measuring instruments to inspect own parts
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work assigned shift and overtime as needed
