Assistant Production Manager | Direct Hire, Full-Time

Location: Berlin, CT

Pay rate: $60,000-90,000/year

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist the Production Manager in planning and organizing daily production activities to prioritize work flow on the shop floor
• Will be purchasing materials and performing vendor services for job orders
• Help manage production schedules and meet output targets
• Coordinate with supervisors, quality, maintenance, and supply teams
• Monitor production KPIs (quality, efficiency, downtime) and suggest improvements
• Support documentation of production data and reports
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and quality standards
• Assist with training and mentoring production staff
• Troubleshoot production issues and escalate as needed
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Prior experience in a job shop/manufacturing required
• High school diploma or GED (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• 1–4 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or operations support
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
• Comfortable using production tracking systems and MS Office
• Problem-solver with attention to detail
