Job Summary

The CNC Screw Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC screw machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. This role ensures high-quality output, machine efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC screw machines (e.g., Davenport, Acme, Swiss-type).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Adjust machine settings for optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
  • Maintain production records and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CNC machine operation and programming (G-code knowledge preferred).
  • Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and material properties.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Experience with precision measurement and quality control.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Basic math and computer skills.

Education & Experience

 

  • Familiarity with ISO quality standards and SPC is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Manual dexterity for handling tools and parts.
