CNC VTL Machinist

Located in Coventry, CT

Salary: $20-30/hr

CNC VTL Machinist | Direct Hire, Full-Time

Location: Coventry/Andover, CT area

Pay rate: $25-35/hr

Schedule:

• 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm
• 2nd shift, Monday - Friday, 3:25 pm to 1:45 am (must be able to train on 1st shift)

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC VTL machines to machine complex parts to tight tolerances
• Load programs, adjust offsets, and perform tool changes as needed
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions
• Measure and inspect parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges)
• Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure part quality
• Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping
• Identify and troubleshoot machining or quality issues
• Follow all safety, quality, and production standards
• Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of CNC VTL machining experience
• Strong understanding of CNC machining principles
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Experience machining large or heavy components
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to work assigned shift and overtime as needed
