Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and relationship driven Inside Technical Sales Representative specializing in CCTV and video surveillance solutions. This role is responsible for supporting customers through consultative sales, providing technical product guidance, and assisting with training and educational events. The ideal candidate has strong product knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping customers design and deploy effective surveillance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Engagement
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, integrators, and partners for CCTV and video surveillance solutions
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers through phone, email, and virtual meetings
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate surveillance products, systems, and solutions
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and product recommendations in coordination with outside sales or account managers
- Support the sales cycle from lead qualification through order placement and post-sale follow-up
Technical Support & Product Expertise
- Maintain strong working knowledge of CCTV and video surveillance products, including cameras, NVRs/DVRs, VMS platforms, networking requirements, and accessories
- Assist customers with system design, product selection, and basic troubleshooting
- Stay current on product updates, new technologies, and industry trends
Training & Events Support
- Assist in planning and supporting customer training sessions, product demos, webinars, and in-house events
- Help educate customers and internal teams on product features, benefits, and best practices
- Support onboarding and ongoing education for partners and integrators
Collaboration & Administration
- Work closely with outside sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction
- Accurately document customer interactions, opportunities, and activities in CRM systems
- Meet or exceed sales performance metrics and customer service expectations
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in inside sales, technical sales, or customer support within CCTV, video surveillance, security, or related technology fields
- Strong understanding of video surveillance products and systems
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfortable supporting training events and speaking in front of small groups
- Proficient with CRM systems, quoting tools, and Microsoft Office or similar platforms
Preferred
- Experience with IP cameras, VMS platforms, and network-based security systems
- Background working with integrators, installers, or security professionals
- Prior experience supporting training sessions, demos, or technical workshops
