Furnace Operator

Located in Sparta, MI

Salary: $18/HR+ BOE

Furnace Operator Summary: A West Michigan based company specializing in die casting with over 40 years of manufacturing custom engineered die cast components is seeking Furnace Operator to join their team in Sparta on 1^st shift. Located just 20 minutes north of downtown Grand Rapids, the organization has been recognized as a Best and Brightest Company to Work for in the Nation. Furnace Operator Responsibilities:

• Fills remelt furnace at required weight limits with scrap and ingot
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of remelt and holding furnaces and operation of flux machine
• Detect and report improper conditions, faulty equipment and defective material to proper supervisor
• Removes scrap containers from cast and trim area
• Ability to operate a forklift (Delivers molten metal to individual furnace by the use of forklift)
• Read, comprehend, and follow written, standardized work instructions and trained procedures to perform any furnace operation
• Accurately enter work orders into QAD

Schedule & Pay:

• 1st Shift, Monday – Thursday (5:00am - 3:20pm), and Fridays as needed (5:00am - 1:20pm)
• $18/HR + BOE

Furnace Operator Qualifications:

• Must be able to withstand a hot work environment
• HS diploma or equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of basic math, reading and writing
• Crane experience 
• Forklift experience 
• Must have excellent attention to detail
