Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Chemical Technician to support both metallurgical and chemical sample preparation and testing in a laboratory environment. This role is well suited for someone who is mechanically inclined, organized, and comfortable working with precision equipment. Entry-level candidates with strong aptitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgical sample preparation, including cutting, grinding, mounting, and polishing using saws and related equipment

• Conduct metallurgical testing and evaluation such as:

  • Microhardness testing

  • Microstructural analysis

  • Macro-etching

  • Coating and plating examinations

  • Grain size and case depth analysis

• Perform chemical sample preparation for combustion-method testing

• Follow established testing procedures and lab protocols closely

• Accurately document results using computer systems and lab software

• Maintain a clean, neat, and organized laboratory workspace

• Assist with additional testing or lab tasks as directed

Qualifications

• High School diploma required

  • Associate’s degree or coursework in chemistry, metallurgy, mechanics, or related science strongly preferred

• 1–3 years of experience in a lab or technical environment preferred (not required)

• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow processes precisely

• Ability to multitask and jump into new tasks as needed

• Willingness to work overtime when required

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
