We have an opening for a Warehouse/Delivery Driver position working at a packaging/shipping products supplier located in Arab, AL. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.
Skills/Qualifications
A valid Driver's License is required (Class D or higher).
A clean driving record (MVR) is required.
Must be able to pass a DOT Physical Exam.
Must have previous experience driving a straight/box truck.
Must be capable of working an entire work week on a consistent basis.
Ability to pull and or push a hand truck or pallet jack for product unloading.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to safely drive in adverse weather or road conditions.
Ability to lift 25 lb. unassisted.
Basic computer skills.
Duties/Responsibilities
Operate a straight/box truck for daily local pickup and delivery routes.
You will be responsible for loading the truck prior to delivery and unloading the truck at the delivery site.
Use of hand truck and/or pallet jack when necessary for loading/unloading product.
Perform pre-trip, during the trip, and post-trip inspections according to DOT and company standards.
Ensure accurate completion of delivery paperwork, logs, and electronic documentation.
Communicate effectively with customers, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of assigned vehicles.
Follow all federal, state, and local transportation laws as well as company policies.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
