Maintenance Dispatcher / Billing Clerk Job Type: Full Time Location: Salem, OR
Job Summary: Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Maintenance Dispatcher / Billing Clerk to manage the full lifecycle of maintenance requests across multiple properties. This role serves as the central point of contact for all inbound maintenance calls, tenant communication, vendor coordination, work order tracking, and billing. Some days are high volume and fast-paced, while others are quieter—strong organization and follow-through are critical.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all inbound maintenance requests and tenant complaints
Communicate with tenants to gather details, provide updates, and ensure resolution
Create, track, and close work orders with strong attention to detail
Contact vendors, schedule maintenance services, and coordinate access
Track maintenance requests across multiple properties and ensure nothing falls through the cracks
Bill out completed work orders accurately and timely
Serve as the primary maintenance point of contact, relieving portfolio managers of repetitive calls
Maintain organized records and documentation for all maintenance activity
Qualifications:
Previous experience in maintenance dispatching, property management, scheduling, or administrative support preferred
Strong ability to manage high call volume and shifting priorities
Excellent organizational and tracking skills
Comfortable communicating with tenants, vendors, and internal teams
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the full process
Strong computer skills and experience working with work order or billing systems preferred
Work Environment:
Office-based position
Call volume varies by day (busy and slow periods)
Fast-paced when maintenance demand is high
