Our client is looking for a MIG Welder for their growing facility in Brantford! Our client manufactures laboratory furniture and equipment for the industrial, pharmaceutical, education, health care and government markets.
As a welder you will be reporting to the department leader, and will be responsible for reading blueprints, setting up controllers and jigs to square products and welding different products.
** Must be able to attend in person interviews in Hamilton, ON **
Responsibilities:
- Read drawings and blueprints to determine requirements
- MIG or TIG weld different products and materials
- Weld & test first sample and record results
- Set controllers to required heat matching type of steel and thickness
- Fit correct parts together as per drawings
- Verify welded assemblies to drawings and place on carts
- Clean welds with acid wash
- Metal finish products when needed
- Perform other duties as required
Skills & Experiences:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a MIG or TIG Welder
- Must understand welding procedure and heating effect to eliminate product warping
- Ability to read blueprints and data sheets
- Ability to work with power hand tools (i.e. cordless drill)
- Must know how to use a tape measure
- Physically fit for heavy lifting of >35 lbs

Probation Wage: $24.75 to start
