Production Control Specialist
Located in Wytheville, VA
We are now hiring a Production Control Specialist in Wytheville, Virginia. The ideal candidate will manage the flow of incoming raw materials from suppliers and outgoing finished goods to customers through steady communication with suppliers, customers and representatives throughout production process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains an ergonomically and otherwise physically safe, well-organized and clean work environment in keeping with 5S standards
- Practices safe work habits; follows safety procedures; wears required personal protective equipment and reports any unsafe incidents and conditions to supervisor
- Communicates with customers to provide lead times for finished product availability; receives incoming orders from customers, creates sales orders by entering corresponding order information (quantity, specifications, due date, etc.) into Sage computer software; invoices customers for finished goods
- Orders raw materials to fulfill customer requirements; creates purchase order and sends to supplier; documents receipt of raw materials into Sage computer program and production worksheets
- Creates and maintains production schedule based on NSK, Denso and Aisin customer demand
- Schedules freight carriers to ship incoming raw materials from suppliers and outgoing finished products to customers to ensure on-time delivery
- Monitors daily customer shipments to ensure production schedule is met
- Maintains communication with customers regarding order status and develops recovery plan, as needed, to accommodate customer
- Enters actual daily production required to fulfill customer demand
- Maintains communication with Production Management and Team Leaders regarding shipment requirements and order fulfillment
- Evaluates spreadsheets of raw material usage and customer demand to determine historic trends
- Enters monthly shipping requirements on production display board and provides daily updates in accordance with customer requirements
- Conducts on-going internal inventory audit and reconciliation between Sage software and production spreadsheets to ensure inventory accuracy; investigates any discrepancies by working with representatives and/or documentation generated by Quality, Production and/or Accounting (such as month-end inventory, year-end inventory and material movement throughout the facility)
- Records Return Material Authorizations (RMA) in the case unacceptable product or short shipments of products to customers.
- Maintains price quotations for raw materials and finished goods and seeks internal management approval

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma plus two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a production control or equivalent capacity.
