Custodian Team Leader

Location: Utah County
Schedule: 1st Shift M - F
Pay: $18 per hour for first 30 days, then $20/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Custodian Team Leader to oversee daily custodial operations and lead a team in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This hands-on leadership role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate a team while ensuring high cleaning standards are met consistently.

The ideal candidate leads by example, communicates effectively, and takes pride in creating a well-maintained facility.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, train, and support a team of custodial staff
Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and to standard
Perform routine and deep cleaning duties alongside the team as needed
Inspect completed work to ensure quality, safety, and cleanliness standards are met
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment as needed
Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of custodial equipment and chemicals
Follow and enforce safety procedures, including proper handling of cleaning products
Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or supply needs to management
Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, and coverage as required

Qualifications & Skills

Previous custodial or janitorial experience required
Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to lead, motivate, and coach a team
Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety standards
Dependable, solution-oriented, and adaptable
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and walking for extended periods
