Accounting Clerk

 

Our client in Rockford, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis. If you are looking for extra money for the holiday's this might be a good position for you. This position works Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM but could also do 3 days out of the week as part time and pays $26-$29 based on experience. Job Responsibilities:

• Process customer invoices, credit memos, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor accounts to identify outstanding balances and ensure payments are received according to company terms.
• Contact customers regarding overdue invoices and resolve payment discrepancies or billing issues.
• Post daily deposits and reconcile accounts receivable transactions in the accounting system.
• Maintain and organize all customer billing records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Prepare weekly and monthly aging reports and assist with month-end closing activities.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments (sales, shipping, and customer service) to resolve invoicing or credit issues.

Job Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or accounting support role.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
