Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Grocery Store Operations Director to oversee and optimize all operational aspects of a grocery store. This role ensures efficient and profitable daily operations while maintaining high customer satisfaction and adhering to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational strategies to maximize the supermarket's profitability and efficiency
• Manage and supervise all store departments, ensuring smooth daily operations
• Oversee inventory management, ordering, receiving, and stocking
• Control expenses and manage store budget to maximize revenue
• Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team
• Monitor KPIs such as sales, customer traffic, and labor costs
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Resolve customer complaints effectively
• Collaborate with marketing and merchandising for promotions and product placement
• Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize shrink
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment
• Conduct regular audits and prepare performance reports for senior management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field (MBA preferred)
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in grocery store operations, including 3 years in a leadership role
• Proven track record in managing sales, inventory, staffing, budgeting, and P&L responsibility
• Strong leadership and team development skills
• Experience with vendor management and negotiation
• Knowledge of grocery industry trends and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and POS systems
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
