Job Description: Certified Rigger / Flagger
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Certified Rigger / Flagger to support active construction job sites. This role is critical to safe lifting operations and crane activity, working closely with crane operators and ground crews to control loads and direct equipment movement safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Rig, secure, and guide loads for crane and hoisting operations
🔹 Select, inspect, and properly use rigging equipment (slings, chains, hooks, shackles, spreader bars)
🔹 Serve as the designated flagger / signal person for crane operations
🔹 Communicate clearly with crane operators using standard hand signals and/or radios
🔹 Control job site traffic and pedestrian movement when required
🔹 Inspect rigging and flagging equipment daily and remove unsafe gear from service
🔹 Follow OSHA regulations, lift plans, and all job site safety requirements
🔹 Assist with material staging and general job site support as needed
Qualifications & Requirements:
✔ Current Rigger Certification (NCCCO or equivalent preferred)
✔ Certified Flagger / Signal Person credentials required
✔ Proven experience supporting crane operations on construction or industrial sites
✔ Strong knowledge of rigging techniques, load calculations, and crane safety
✔ Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
✔ Physically capable of lifting, bending, standing, and working around heavy equipment
✔ Safety-focused, reliable, and able to work well as part of a crew
