Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented SMD Operator to join our team in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating surface mount technology (SMT) machines to assemble electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) used in automotive systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and monitor SMD/SMT equipment including pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, and reflow ovens.
Load components into feeders and verify correct part placement and orientation.
Inspect assembled boards for soldering quality and component alignment using magnification tools or automated optical inspection (AOI) systems.
Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
Ensure all processes follow quality and safety standards.
Complete necessary production documentation and records.
Communicate any discrepancies or quality concerns to the supervisor or quality team.
Qualifications:
Prior experience operating SMT/SMD equipment in a manufacturing setting, preferably automotive.
Basic knowledge of electronic components and PCB assembly processes.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
