Estimator / Bidder – Welding & Fabrication Projects (Hybrid – Yuba-Sutter Area)

Express Employment Professionals in Yuba City is seeking an Estimator/Bidder for a newly established welding and fabrication company in the Yuba-Sutter area. This is a unique opportunity to help a growing business expand by securing high-value contracts and building a strong project pipeline for the upcoming year.

The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, welding, or a related trade, along with a strong background in bidding and estimating large-scale projects.

About the Opportunity:
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys analyzing project details, identifying bid opportunities, and preparing competitive proposals for fabrication and construction work. You’ll play a key role in helping the company win contracts ranging from $100K and up.

While the position is primarily remote, the selected candidate must be available to meet with the company owner in the Yuba-Sutter area two to three times per week to review projects, discuss bid strategies, and align on priorities.

Responsibilities:
• Review bid requests, blueprints, and specifications to prepare detailed estimates for welding and fabrication projects.
• Research and identify open bid opportunities that align with company capabilities.
• Prepare cost breakdowns, material takeoffs, and labor projections.
• Communicate with vendors and clients to clarify project requirements and ensure accuracy in proposals.
• Collaborate directly with ownership to develop bid strategies and maximize win potential.
• Submit bids through online portals and track progress of open opportunities.

Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in estimating, bidding, or project coordination within welding, fabrication, or construction.
• Strong understanding of materials, labor costs, and project workflows.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Sales experience required; experience in the welding or construction sector preferred.
• Must be computer-literate and comfortable learning new software.

Compensation:
• $25.00–$30.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
• Primarily remote position with in-person meetings in the Yuba-Sutter area (2–3 times weekly).
• Company provides laptop and bidding software.
• Full-time schedule, Monday–Friday.
• No benefits offered at this time.
