Individual and Business Tax Preparer

Located in beaverton, OR

This position supports a local CPA firm by reviewing tax returns and financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant tax laws before submission. The role requires strong analytical thinking, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to identify discrepancies or unusual items within tax documents. You’ll collaborate closely with tax preparers, provide feedback, verify corrections, and play a key part in maintaining quality control for the firm's tax work.

Job Duties

• Review individual, business, and estate tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Verify calculations, deductions, credits, and supporting documents to ensure all information is accurate and properly substantiated.
• Identify inconsistencies or unusual entries and work with preparers to resolve issues.
• Review complex returns prepared by others and provide clear guidance on needed corrections or improvements.
• Ensure all tax filings meet deadlines and adhere to firm quality standards.
• Utilize QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Excel, and other Microsoft Office programs for financial data review and preparation.
• Prepare various types of returns (Individual, Business, and Estate preferred) depending on experience and project needs.
• Collaborate with the CPA owner and team to support workflow, accuracy, and compliance processes.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with professionalism.
