About the Role

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Pawnbroker to join a reputable local pawnshop. In this role, you will evaluate and appraise a wide range of items—including firearms, tools, jewelry, electronics, musical instruments, and sporting goods—to determine loan values or purchase offers. You will also assist customers with buying and selling merchandise while maintaining accurate transaction records.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service

• Evaluate and appraise items brought in for pawn or sale

• Negotiate loan amounts and clearly explain terms to customers

• Verify customer identification and complete all required documentation

• Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records

• Assist with merchandise sales and display as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong math skills and the ability to multitask

• High attention to detail

• Knowledge of merchandise evaluation and appraisal

• Excellent negotiation and customer service skills

• Ability to handle cash responsibly and maintain accurate records

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous pawnshop or related retail experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods

• Ability to lift items up to 30 lbs.

• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as needed
