Position Overview: The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, performing skilled repair work, and ensuring all equipment, machinery, and facilities remain in safe and efficient working condition. This role serves as the primary point of contact for maintenance staff, assigns tasks, and coordinates preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
Lead, train, and support maintenance team members in daily activities.
Assign, prioritize, and monitor work orders to ensure timely completion.
Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery, equipment, and building systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC as applicable).
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment records, and inventory of parts and supplies.
Coordinate with production, operations, and management to minimize interruptions and maximize equipment uptime.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, company policies, and OSHA regulations.
Assist in installation, setup, and testing of new equipment.
Identify improvement opportunities and recommend cost-effective solutions.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests and support after-hours needs as required.
Previous experience in maintenance (industrial, manufacturing, or facilities); leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices, root-cause analysis, and basic CMMS systems.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk for prolonged periods, and work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, heights, confined spaces).
Use of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment as needed.
Full-time; may include weekends, overtime, or on-call rotation depending on facility needs.
