The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for efficiently managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate inventory records, and maintaining an organized warehouse environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, solid communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips

  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and carrier guidelines

  • Accurately record and update inventory levels in the system

  • Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift if certified)

  • Label and organize products in storage areas to maintain a clean and efficient warehouse

  • Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipment status or discrepancies

  • Process returns, damaged goods, and special order items

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and warehouse procedures

  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and cycle counts

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Previous shipping/receiving or warehouse experience preferred

  • Ability to lift up to [X] lbs and stand for extended periods

  • Basic computer skills (email, inventory systems, shipping software)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

  • Forklift certification is a plus
