Shipping & Receiving Associate

 

 

Location: Torrance, CA

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $20/hour

 

 

Overview

 

 

A manufacturing/distribution company in Torrance is seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Associate with required forklift experience to support daily warehouse operations. This role ensures accurate receiving, efficient shipping, and smooth flow of materials throughout the facility.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage
• Prepare, package, and stage outgoing shipments
• Create shipping labels, bills of lading, and all required documentation
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently (forklift required)
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and proper documentation
• Organize materials and maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment
• Update system records for all inbound/outbound materials
• Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and internal departments

 

 

Requirements

 

• Forklift experience required (sit-down or stand-up depending on facility needs)
• 1+ year of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
• Basic computer skills for labels, documentation, and inventory entries
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
