Summary

 

An Auto Service Technician inspects, maintains, and repairs vehicles using diagnostic tools and technical manuals, performing tasks like oil changes, brake repairs, and complex engine/electrical diagnostics, while communicating with customers and ensuring shop safety and cleanliness. They diagnose issues, plan repairs, replace parts, test systems, and follow manufacturer standards for reliability and functionality. 

 

• Diagnosis: Use computerized equipment to find problems in engine, electrical, suspension, brake, and HVAC systems.
• Maintenance: Conduct oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and tune-ups.
• Repairs: Replace worn parts (brakes, sensors, belts, hoses) and repair/rebuild components.
• Testing: Perform road tests and system tests to confirm repairs and proper function.
• Customer Service: Explain issues and repairs to clients and provide estimates.
• Documentation: Complete work orders, warranty claims, and log findings.
• Shop Duties: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, and manage tools.
• Essential Skills & Requirements:
   
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with hand/power tools and diagnostic software.
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems (mechanical, electrical, electronic).
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures/checklists.
  • Good communication and teamwork.
  • Valid Driver's License.
