This company uses different types of plastic resin to meet the specifications of our customers. Each resin has its own set of rules, called a Material Data Sheet (MDS), from the manufacturer for achieving the best outcome on finished parts. Material handlers are responsible for mixing, moving, drying, and cleaning of all the equipment in contact with materials. Any spills or debris of materials on the floor around grinders, dryers, daybins, and hoppers are to be cleaned by material handlers.
At the beginning of the shift, the entering and exiting material handlers are to do a walk though of the floor together. The entering material handler is in charge of filling out the Daily Walkthrough Check sheet for their foreman to review and make additions or modifications. Any issues regarding materials, grinders, dryers, daybins, and trash/debris should be settled after the Daily Walkthrough Check is completed. Material handlers must do their Fill Check at a minimum of five times during their shift. Will look at the material card in the set up sheet to confirm the material type, mix, dryer temp, weight, and percentage of regrind. Each grinder is to be emptied during a Fill Check regardless the amount of material within the catch bin.
