Medical Coder

Salary: $19.50-29.12

Express Employment has partnered with a local Webster City, IA company seeking an experienced Medical Coder to join their team! The ideal candidate for this role should have an upbeat attitude and must be highly organized. 

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity, with a pay rate starting at $19.50/hr, dependent on experience. 

Environment: 

• 1st shift, Monday-Friday schedule 8:00am-4:30pm
• This is a medical environment; candidates should have prior healthcare experience and be familiar with medical terminology
• Business casual clothes are preferred

Duties:

• Completes all required competencies and continually provides all documentation to different departments
• Identifies and codes hospital and clinic records for reimbursement, research, compliance, etc
• Reviews medical records to ensure accuracy and confirm each are complete

Skills/Experience Required:

• Demonstrates ability to read, write, and comprehend the contents of a patient's chart sufficiently to code the medical record
• At least 1 year of coding experience and familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems are required
• Excellent computer and typing skills
