Our Pickering client, one of the world’s largest signage companies, is looking for a Lead Hand Metal Fabricator to join their growing team!

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the metal fabrication team in daily tasks and productions goals
• Lead, train, mentor and oversee 4-5 junior fabricators
• Fabricate sign components using hand and power tools (shears, rollers, brake press, grinders)
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency in fabricated components
• Coordinate workflow and delegate tasks to team members
• Monitor progress of team and ensure deadlines are met
• Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to meet production goals
• Assist other departments with problem-solving, identify areas for continuous improvement, and fabrication planning
• Ensure team adheres to safety policies and procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Skills: 

• 2-3 years of Supervisory experience or as a Lead Hand
• 3-5 years of metal fabrication experience
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and fabrication designs
• Proficient with hand and power tools, metal fabrication equipment, and machinery (shear, roller, brake press)
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality
• Able to engage with others and work well in a team environment,
• Lift up to 50lbs
• Safety boots required

 Bonus Qualifications:

• Metal fabrication experience within the sign industry (asset)
• Welding experience (asset)

Compensation and Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 3:30pm
• Pay Rate: $30-$33 per hour
