 Location: Bend, Oregon
 Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
 Pay: $20 – $23 DOE

Position Summary

The Assistant Sawyer supports the Lead Sawyer in preparing and packaging finished lumber materials. This fast-paced, physically demanding role assists with all aspects of banding, wrapping, stacking, and preparing orders for shipping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Band and wrap finished lumber materials for shipping
• Stack and organize finished materials according to size, type, and grade
• Transport lumber from saws to staging and storage areas
• Sweep and maintain cleanliness of the entire sawmill work area
• Lift and carry boards up to 50 lbs
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures at all times, including wearing required composite toe shoes

Qualifications

• Ability to regularly lift and carry heavy lumber (up to 50 lbs)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to stand and walk for entire 8–10 hour shifts
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
